What microphone is best for your voice?

Great question and as with a lot of questions, the answer tends to be "it depends".

My voice has always been on the thin and raspy side and can easily be overwhelmed by other instruments, but I noticed early on that some engineers would select the AKG 414 for me.

It worked great and it's not really known as a strong vocal mic. I've had mine now for 30 years and it's never let me down. Amazing on acoustic guitars too!
