Bio
Hi! My name is Ramin Streets
I'm a songwriter hailing from the blazing deserts of Arizona...
This is the best description of my songs I've ever read.
"Ramin's words go beyond the lyric to the poetic serving up pathos and 70's-style. Think Travis 1972 in a New York Art-Bar."
I grew up in the small town of Shutesbury, MA back in the early 70s.
If you put on the radio back then it was mainly Bee Gees, Donna Summer, Barry Manilow and once in a while Rod Stewart.
I was taking piano lessons at age 6 (like everybody else) so Bach, Beethoven, Chopin were the order of the day (and scales. Lots and lots of scales).
Then one day my brother came home with the album, Elvis Golden Records. Hooked!
A few months later he came home with Beatles VI. Sold!
For me, it was then when everything changed. From that time forward I lived my life with headphones on, trying to figure out how those songs got made. Trying to understand how they pulled together on the keyboard then later the guitar.
Then came the next explosion. The 80s New Wave Era. Rock music with synths! Boom! I was all in.
Listening, writing, recording. Year after year with all the little pieces of kit grabbed along the way in LA, then Chicago and now the deserts of Arizona (of all places).
My name is Ramin Streets. I write and produce songs...
